Dr Julien Masquelier has over fifteen years of research experience in the field of analytical chemistry. He is a senior pharmacist with a PhD in biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences. He is Head of the Toxins Unit in the Organic Contaminants and Additives Service at Sciensano (Belgium), and has more than ten years of experience in LC-MS method development. He is involved in research and development in the field of food safety with a major focus on natural toxins. He conducts research on the quantification of myco-, phyco-, phyto- and bacterial toxins in food, human and environmental matrices, under ISO 17025 accreditation. He frequently participates in both European and Belgian research projects and he also organizes annual proficiency tests under BELAC accreditation (ISO 17043).
