The webinar was held from 13^st to 15^th October 2020 and was hosted by AGES (Vienna). Its aim was to provide further knowledge on the molecular identification of Spodoptera frugiperda and Thrips palmi using real time PCR. Best practices for real time PCR including general handling, optimization of assays, troubleshooting, validation/verification of results and quality assurance issues were trained. The topics of the seminar were presented through lectures and hands on videos.

In total 19 member states and 38 participants followed the virtual webinar.
