EURL for Listeria monocytogenes (Lm) organised a training for INIAV as PT-NRL for Lm from 17 to 20 April 2023.

The aim of this training course was to implement GenoListeria screening method to detect the molecular serotypes and major clonal complexes for a large quantity of strains.

The last day was dedicated to course on genomic and molecular surveillance. During applied session, a comparison test was conducted between the genomic DNA extraction currently used by the NRL and used by the EURL Lm. Of the 68 strains typed by GenoListeria during the training session, the CC were identified for 60. The DNA extractions provided comparable performance.
