The EURL organizes Proficiency Tests (PT) on detection and identification of regulated quarantine plant-parasitic nematodes in order to assess and ensure the reliability and accuracy of the analyses carried out by the National Reference Laboratories (NRLs).
Proficiency tests are performed under accreditation according to the ISO 17043 standard.

The European Union Reference Laboratory for Plant Parasitic Nematodes yearly organizes a workshop, especially intended for the National Reference Laboratories (NRLs) in the European Union. The purpose of these workshops is to inform the participants about the activities of the EURL, to present and discuss the results of Proficiency Tests (PT), to present and discuss scientific research projects and to exchange information on the European Union legislation, methods, and other relevant subjects.

2020 Meloidogyne chitwoodi & M. fallax Training
From the 1st to the 4th of September 2020, 57 participants representing National Reference Laboratories (NRLs) from from 22 countries, attended the webinar training session on the diagnostics of Meloidogyne chitwoodi and M. fallax.
This training session was successfully presented as an online webinar and was created in order to shed light on the different techniques for extraction, detection and identification of Meloidogyne chitwoodi and M. fallax, highlighting the advantages and disadvantages.
The training was based on the Meloidogyne chitwoodi and M. fallax diagnostic protocols recommended by the EURL, which are also published here on our website.
