The EURL organizes Proficiency Tests (PT) on detection and identification of regulated quarantine plant-parasitic nematodes in order to assess and ensure the reliability and accuracy of the analyses carried out by the National Reference Laboratories (NRLs).
Proficiency tests are performed under accreditation according to the ISO 17043 standard.
Proficiency tests registration, participation and information are accessed by the following link: https://leila.anses.fr/
The European Union Reference Laboratory for Plant Parasitic Nematodes yearly organizes a workshop, especially intended for the National Reference Laboratories (NRLs) in the European Union. The purpose of these workshops is to inform the participants about the activities of the EURL, to present and discuss the results of Proficiency Tests (PT), to present and discuss scientific research projects and to exchange information on the European Union legislation, methods, and other relevant subjects.

EURL Training: Diagnostic methods for detection and identification of Bursaphelenchus xylophilus - On-site
The EURL for Plant Parasitic Nematodes prepared an EURL training workshop on diagnostic methods for detection and identification of
Bursaphelenchus xylophilus.
The Training was restricted to certain NRLs, where the EURL highlighted a need to enhance their performance and reliability in diagnostic analysis.
The sessions took place on-site at the Anses Plant Health Laboraory, in France, from the 29th of November to the 1st of December 2022.
Documents, presentations and videos related to the training can be found here.
Images of Plant Parasitic Nematodes
Images of EU-regulated and non-regulated species are available on this webpage. These images can aid in the morphological identification of some species of plant-parasitic nematodes if they are used as reference material alongside the appropriate identification protocols. The use of these images should be made in conjunction with the consultation of identification protocols.
This material is reserved for NRL staff, and we are counting on you to ensure that it is not disclosed outside your laboratory.
Please do not change the name of the files as they contain the species name, name of the author, and the image reference number.
